Lauren Dresner, MSW
Mental Health Therapist
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
Ms. Lauren Dresner hails from a small city in New York, not too far from the "big" city. She completed her undergraduate degrees in psychology and criminal justice at State University of New York (SUNY) Plattsburgh. After earning her masters of social work degree from Simmons University in Boston, she got licensed as an LMSW.
Before coming to iHEAL, she worked on the children's unit of a psychiatric inpatient hospital. She has also worked in addictions, but she is passionate about providing individual, family, and group therapy in an outpatient mental health clinic setting.
Currently, she works as a school social worker in a Baltimore City public school where she enjoys supporting high-school students in their emotional wellbeing. At iHEAL, Lauren works with children (starting at 4 years old) through adults, and she is fulfilled by watching people grow and build better lives for themselves. She specializes in anxiety, depression, bipolar, addiction, and family/relationship conflict. In therapy, she uses several theoretical orientations based on the patient's needs, but she uses cognitive behavioral therapy most frequently.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys outdoors activities like hiking, going to the beach, kayaking, and taking adventure walks. As a foodie, she loves trying different foods to expand her pallet, painting, and creating pieces of art with friends.
She is a member of the Maryland Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Social Work and Services Support Group.
