KaShawn Jackson, MA
Psychology (PsyD) Intern
KaShawn Jackson is currently pursuing a doctorate in psychology (PsyD) at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington D.C.
Mr. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from North Carolina A&T State University, and a Master of Arts in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He comes from a diverse background of serving patients in a state psychiatric hospital, patients with autism and traumatic brain injuries, and youths receiving outpatients services.
His clinical interests include treating addictions, trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders in underserved populations. His interests also include providing assessments and evaluations.
He has an integrated, patient-centered approach. He predominantly utilizes psychodynamic interventions to support patients and help uncover patterns that contribute to presenting problems, and a cognitive-behavioral approach when symptom reduction needs to be prioritized.
He is a firm believer in living life to the fullest, and life is what we make it. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading, writing poetry, cooking, spending time with close friends, and trying news things. Additionally, he makes time to travel to see the world and previously learned Spanish while living in Spain for a year.
